a) Generally speaking, when you shrink a water distiller in size, one of two things will happen, or both.

1) Time to produce the distilled water increases.
2) Purity goes down of the distilled water.

These problems usually result from water distiller companies trying to cater their water distillers to be appealing to womens counter-tops, and in the process the quality and functionality of the distiller suffers.

2)  Even amoung the larger water distillers, there is substantial differences in the water quality that is put out by the various brands of water distillers.
